HP LaserJet 1012 Toner - The Cost Friendly And Reliable Toner

Taking an honest look at the HP LaserJet 1012 printer reveals another model from Hewlett-Packard that has been well-designed and ready to deliver good print speed and reliable quality.  They offer it at a seriously nice price, given that it is a laser monochrome printer able to make good use of several different Windows operating systems, as well as being compatible with Macs. It would seem it’s a good choice for the home user, with the HP LaserJet 1012 toner producing prints that should meet most every need.

Not too long ago the 1012 was HP’s least-expensive laser monochrome printer. It’s still very nicely priced and there are a number of online outlets retailing the unit for about $195. It can be found pretty much everywhere in a refurbished state selling for much less than that. HP also continues to maintain a website for it where printer drivers and other items can be located.

As far as print speed, nobody would say that this HP printer is a speed demon, but it also isn’t a slowpoke either. HP rates the print speed at about 15 ppm, while testing from independent evaluators shows it is close to reaching that mark, coming in at a little bit above 13 ppm depending on whether the print job contains a lot of graphics. Given its decent price, the speed would seem to be little to be concerned over.

It would appear that Hewitt Packard intends for this printer to be more suitable for the small office or home office environment rather than for a networked workgroup laser printer, although it could fulfill that role if needed. For sure, it seems to come packed with enough features and functions to be an attractive candidate for most home office or small office entrepreneurs, including a nice 600 dpi print resolution.

At that level, most print jobs that might be sent to this HP printer will emerge looking nice and clean and presentable for most situations. As was said, this is probably a printer more suited to the small office or home office environment, so don’t expect presentation-quality documents to be produced by this particular Hewlett-Packard printer.

When it comes to how easily be 1012 can be connected to a computer or even a workgroup, Hewlett-Packard has supplied a single high-speed USB port. There is no other way to connect it, although this is not a problem. Older networks may require parallel ports and if that’s the case it might be that a couple of other printers in a higher level Hewlett-Packard series would be better candidates.

The LaserJet 1012 comes with 8 MB of RAM and it makes use of the computer’s own processing power to handle its own print taskings, so there’s little worry that the supplied memory will be inadequate. A standard 133 MHz microprocessor helps the printer handle its 150-sheet auto load input tray and the 10-sheet custom input slot with relative ease. It’s not the speediest processor, but it’s generally reliable.

Taking an honest look at the HP LaserJet 1012 printer, especially that nice price, should be more than enough to convince most prospective customers that this device should be on their list of printers to consider. This is especially true for the home office or small office environment that requires a laser jet printer with decent print speeds and nice durability (monthly duty cycle for the 1012 comes in at 5,000 pages). It would appear the 1012 hits all those marks quite nicely.

The HP LaserJet 1012 printer toner also hits the mark when it comes to the presentation you’d like to make.  Ensuring you have enough HP printer toner on hand for any larger job is easy with online retailers offer toner cartridge at exceptional prices, with fast shipping to any location you need.
