Understanding the rules to the game of roulette is easy, but it is easier when you play online. With online roulette you are able to have rule books and any information you need open and available to you as you play, instead of having to constantly ask casino employees about rules. If you haven’t gotten around to mastering the rules quite yet, I’ll give a brief overview.

Roulette consists of a roulette wheel with numbers and colors displayed around it’s edges, the numbers go from 0-38(although some games only have 37 numbers) and the colors are always two different colors, traditionally they are red or black. The wheel is spun and a small ball is placed on the spinning wheel. This causes the ball to get thrown around the wheel sporadically. Once the wheel stops turning the ball will have settled into a slot, the slot will have a color and number, the point of roulette is to guess where the ball will be after the wheel has stopped.

Bets are placed before the wheel stops and depending on whether or not you win your bet and what kind of bet it was you will win some odd sum of money. Some wheels have two 0’s. A 0 is a roulette players worst nightmare, because a 0 makes everybody lose automatically. This is why it is so hard to win consistently at roulette. Which means if you want to maximize your odds tables with more than one 0 are to be avoided.

Roulette offers several different bets, they are lumped into two categories called inside bets, and outside bets.Inside bets are the riskier of the two, but they pay out much more money. On the other hand outside bets are much safer but pay much less money.

An inside bet might be a bet that the ball will land on a certain number. Outside bets are safer because they are more likely to occur, many outside bets are 50/50 scenarios, for example that the number will be even or odd.
